トロントinCANADAに語学留学してみる。

resumeなんて一度も書いたことが無いんで、エージェントの人に教えてもらいながら何とか完成。

日本の履歴書と違って、年齢や人種を書く必要も無いし、決まった形式も無いのにはビックリしました。先入観による差別を無くそうとしてのことだと思います。


ところで、留学しに来ている人は結構興味深い生き方している人が多くて、話聞いてて参考になる事が多いんです。

しかし、『俺何も特筆して書くことが無い』という事を改めて確認。就活の自己分析とかやったら凹むタイプだな(T_T)


カナダ来て良かった。

I've NEVER written any resumes before, but thanks to my agent who perfectly led me to right directions, I made it somehow.


The form of a resume is rather different from Japanese one in some points. I was surprised that there are no fixed patterns for it and we don't have to be required to fill out our age or race or anything like that. I suppose it seems to have been established to stop discriminating against anyone by prejuduce which probably is probably caused by those kinds of information.


By the way, there are many people who have pretty unique ways to live in people who study abroad. so when I talk to them, I can get quite useful tips that I can refer to.


However, I've just reconfirmed that I have no acts worthy of special mention. My character could be a kind of that If I analyzed myself for job hunting, I definitely would be depressed deeply.


I'm truly glad to have come to Canada.

こんばんわ。


トロントに来てもう5ヵ月が過ぎました。そろそろ学校と家の往復の毎日に飽きてきました。やはり自分に自信をつけるために何かしなければ。。。!


というわけで、タイトルのとうり、ボランティアに挑戦してみることにしました!!!


でも、ボランティアなんて初めての経験だし、どうしていいんだか全く分からず。ネットで調べることに(本当にPC持ってきてよかった＾＾)。


普通のボランティアじゃ面白く無さそうなので、今年9月にトロントで開かれるトロント国際映画祭のボランティアに応募することに。この映画祭は英語圏では一番の規模の映画祭だそうです。アカデミー賞の流れを決めるとか決めないとか。調べるまで全然知らなかったんですけど。。。詳しくはこちら(英語です)



この決断をしたのが先週の金曜日。んで、最初のRecruiment Session(応募＆説明会みたいなもの)が次週の水曜日のあることが判明。しかもResume(履歴書みたいなもの)と推薦者の連絡先2件がいるらしい。もちろん英語。



やべっっっ!!!!時間ねえ!!!!

Good evening.


I've already been in Toronto for 5 months. Gradually, I'm getting tired of the days like coming and going between my school and my house. Just as I've expected, I've got to do something to get confidence ...!


Accordingly, as the title says, I've made up my mind to try becoming a volunteer!!!

However, this time is gonna be my first time of volunteer work, so I totally had no idea about what I should have done. Eventually, I checked it out on the internet.(I'm really glad that I brought my PC^^)


I thoght that common kinds of volunteers might not be exciting, I decided that I was gonna apply to Toronto International Film Festival(TIFF) which is gonna be held this September for a volunteer. This festival seems to be the biggest film festival in regions where English is spoken. It could affect the results of the Academy Award. I did NEVER know about it before I checked it out...


This decision was done last Friday, and I turned out that the first recruiment session was gonna be taken place this Wednesday. Moreover, I was gonna bring my resume with contact information for 2 references. Of course, All of them have to be written in English.


HOLY SHIT!!!! There is NO time!!!!

先日、『学校を選ぶ基準について語る』と宣言しましたが、今日はその回。


僕は今大学を休学中で、帰国後はすぐに就職活動を始めなければいけません。

それを踏まえたうえで重要になってくるのは、社会経験だと考えました。カナダに1年いってたからって英語が話せるだけじゃ何にもならない。大事なのは英語が使えるようになって何を学び、どれだけ自分の器を大きく出来たかということだと思うんです。


そのためにもインターンシップを取れる学校が絶対条件です。出来れば３ヵ月間はインターンシップをしてみたいと考えています。


でもいろんな学校のトライアルレッスンを受けてみて分かったのは、だいたいの学校が授業を受けた期間と同じ期間しかインターンシップが出来ないこと。

つまり次ぎ選ぶ学校が僕にとってはラストになるんですよ。


となるとクラスのカリキュラムもかなり重要になってくるかな、と。




慎重に決めなければ!!!と思う今日この頃。


次回は『ボランティアに挑戦!』の回になるはず(定かではない。。。）気楽にお待ちください＾＾

The other day, I informed you guys that I would speak on the standards of school I would choose, today is the day for that.

Now I'm absent from my university, I will have to start job hunting as soon as I go back to Japan.

On the basis of my situation, I think that the important thing is social experience. Even if I had been in Canada for 1 year, it wouldn't be special to be able to speak English. I guees that the important thing is what I've learned in English and how I can become a person of large caliber.


For that reason, my absolute requirement of a school is that I can get the experience of internship. I'm thinking about getting 3 months long internship if I can.


On the other hand, various schools' trial lessons I've taken have made me figure out that most schools give us the same term of internship experience as the term of business class we're gonna take.

That means that the next school I will choose is gonna be the last school for me.

Therefore, curriculums of classes should become more significant.


Nowadays, I've been warninig myself "I have to be more cautious of my decision!"

The next content of my writing is gonna be "Challenge to volunteer!"(I'm not sure...) Please wait it easily^^

どうも。

暑さが大の苦手の僕が、どうでもイイ事をお届けするこのブログ。最近トロントは気温が30℃を超える日が増えてきてます。蒸し暑くないだけましかな。。。


さて今週、僕は1週間の休暇をとり、いくつかの語学学校のトライアルレッスンを受けています。

というのも、そろそろ今の学校を卒業する時期が近づいてきているのです。


長かった。。。ここで僕が自信を持って言えることが1つだけあります。


1つの学校は3ヶ月まで!!!!!


はい!今『自分は意志が強いからもっと通っても大丈夫』と思った其処のあなた!!


非常に残念なお知らせです。必ず厭きます(T_T)


だいたいの語学学校はカリキュラムが2〜3ヶ月でローテしています。
それに加え3ヶ月といえばかなりこちらでの生活に慣れてくる頃。刺激が無くなってくるのです。


僕も来る前はそんな事は無いだろうと思っていました。同じ事を来る前に他のブログで見もしましたが信じませんでした。


しかしこの倦怠感はやってきます。五月病のような感じです。やる気をガンガン奪っていきます。。。



1つの学校は3ヶ月まで!!!!!これは最早格言です。



次回は次行くだろう学校に求める僕なりの基準について。

Hello.

I ,who really hate swelter, tell insignificant things in this blog. The number of days whose maximum temperature is over 30 degrees has recently been increasing. It would be better than mugginess...


Well, I'm taking a vacation this week and taking trial lessons of several schools.

Because I'm graduating from my present school soon.


It has been for a long time... I can tell you the only one thing with confidence.


"The maximum term of you going to One school is until 3 months long!!!!!"


YOU!! You who think that you would be all right because you are men of great resolution, WATCH OUT!!!!


I've got to notify you guys a disappointed truth.

You definitely will be tired of your school(T_T)

Most language schools' curriculums rotate every 2~3 months.In addition, you might be getting used to live here in 2~3 months. At this point, stimulation you are given will start decreasing.

I also didn't think that would happen before I came here. And moreover, by the time I decided to go to the school which I was gonna attend, I had seen the exactly same things that I'm telling you now in other blogs, but I didn't believe in those advice.


However, the feeling of boredom certainly will catch you guys. It's like a kind of May disease. It would reduce your incentive to study English.


"The maximum term of you going to One school is until 3 months long!!!!!" this has already become a proverb.


I'm gonna write my own required standards of the school I will go to.
